Sales and service team member

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for responding to requests for quotations and general product information. The Sales Representative gathers all the pertinent information required to quote price and delivery in a timely manner. This involves the assessment of accurate raw material and labor costs and applying the correct formulas and margins to generate a net selling price to the customer. Provides and helps streamline process improvements to quoting, Salesforce, and other areas that needs improvement. Guides and supports Inside Sales associates and customer service support. 

The position involves a high level of customer contact, high level important judgment and decision-making calls. Requires the work of an individual who truly enjoys providing a service to the customer, and an individual who can be patient and understanding with a customer who is unfamiliar with BOC product lines and nomenclature. Can work individually remotely or at the company’s offices.

You will be responsible for:

• Leads, understands, and follow all procedures applicable to the job function, and training

based on current procedures and streamlining new processes.

• Acknowledge and processes customer/prospect requests with accurate information in a

timely manner using the company’s 

• Retrieve and respond to customer RFQ’s through web portals

• Communicate with customers to keep them updated and informed on all issues relating to

the completion of their quotation

• Clarify customer requirements as necessary to quote, including gathering current revision

level drawings, specifications, certifications, packaging, and delivery requirements.

• Conduct an accurate and thorough review of statutory and regulatory requirements

associated with aerospace-related inquiries.

• Coordinates with multiple internal department managers, and occasionally outside

services or suppliers, to gather cost and solution details. Follow-up as necessary to

complete work.

• Conduct RFQ review meetings and follow-up as necessary.

• Generate material requisitions as deemed necessary 

• Provide timely answers to customer questions related to quotations, product data,

delivery, manufacturing capability and capacity.

• Maintain accurate records including the price book, commodity pricing, no quote

scenarios, and customer contact information

• Maintain standard commodity and customer specific price sheets

• Maintain an accurate and current quote filing system via Salesforce

• Distribute copies of quotes to BOC sales representatives for follow-up

• Conduct all work in accordance with the company quality management system, including

procedures, SPs, and this job description.

• Understanding of E-Commerce site, help field calls about product line.

• Plus, other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management

The Inside Sales representative will be held accountable for the following:

• Leading and presenting a professional attitude while communicating with our internal

and external customers and suppliers.

• Handling inquires to a customer’s satisfaction in a timely manner.

• Attention to detail in assessing accurate and all information required to generate a

complete and timely quotations for price and lead time.

• Displaying a positive and cooperative attitude.

• Raising issues or concerns to the manager’s attention.

• Maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. 



Preferred Qualifications: 

• Preferred Heavy Industry Mill Maintenance Experience 

• Bachelor or associates degree (applied science or business) a plus 

• Proven mechanical abilities and experience. 

• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. 

• Willingness to travel out of the home office a minimum on average 50 % of time, mainly

domestically but possibly internationally, for customer visits, trade shows and industry

events. 

• Ability to understand fluid power equipment and schematics. 

• Professional Fluid Power Certification (IFPS) a plus. 

• Industrial Equipment sales, service and/or maintenance: 3 years (Minimum)
