Fluid Mechanic Engineer

Job Summary:
As a Fluid Mechanics Engineer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of engineering tasks to support the design, development, and testing of hydraulic components and systems. In this role, you will make equipment and material recommendations along with performing advanced fluid mechanics engineering calculations during the design process. You will help test prototypes, validate the components or assemblies, draft technical drawings, a bill of materials, and test specifications for the design.
The Fluid Mechanic Engineer will be responsible for the following Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advanced Fluid Mechanics
- Perform basic engineering calculations to support design and analysis activities.
- Make material and equipment recommendations based on engineering principles and project requirements.
- Create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and test specifications for hydraulic components and systems
- Assist in Problem Solving/Analysis with Product Design, Manufacturing, and Assembly teams.
- Troubleshoot and test hydraulic components/assemblies for validation and performance optimization.
- Plus, other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
- Effective oral and written communication, time-management, administrative, organizational, and technical skills.
- Experience in Fluid Power Systems and Fluid Mechanics, preferably 3 to 5 years’ experience
- Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably 5 years’ experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Relevant courses such as Power Fluid, Fluid Dynamics, and Fluid Applications
- 3-5 years on the job experience with machining/manufacturing processes, material specification, and welding
- International Fluid Power Society Certification is a plus but not preferred
- Water Hydraulics is a plus
Training:
- Provided on the job and supplemented with external seminars and/or classes.
Other opportunities: there is room for moving up and forward throughout the company. Many other classes and training sessions are available. Engineers will be taken out on the production floor and work closely with the production team on parts and assembly.
